WEBSITE OF THE DAY - Ding It's Up

Be the first to know about the ups and the downs

10 March 2011 1:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

If there's a head there has to be a tail. If there's a yin, there has to be a yang. It was always this way, so as a kind of companion piece to Down For Everyone Or Just Me, here's www.dingitsup.com.

This will tell you when a site comes back online, by sending you an email, tweet or SMS. Most useful if you're keen to visit a particulate site, but technology is getting in the way. With this free service, you can get on with your life, rather than sit staring at the spinning hourglass of death for interminable minutes before giving up and reading a book instead.

It will also tell you when offending sites go down again too. That bit's not quite as useful to the average Joe in our opinion, but functionality is never a bad thing, and for webmasters it could prove a worthy bookmark.

If you have a website that you want to tell us about email us via the feedback form.
