A Google Crisis Response page has been created for the Christchurch earthquake disaster in New Zealand, which brings emergency links, news updates and map information in one place in order to help victims during the aftermath. You can find the page at www.google.com/crisisresponse/christchurch_earthquake.html

The Christchurch earthquake, that had a magnitude of 6.3, hit Christchurch in New Zealand's south island on 22 February causing extensive damage and injuries to people.

The page is designed to give quick access to the most relevant information, and includes a variety of links to important New Zealand-based resources, a map of the affected area and "person finder" service.

There's also latest news coming from a wide selection of websites and real time updates through a Twitter stream.

This is not the first time Google has posted a response page, as its archives go back to Cyclone Nargis that hit Myanmar in 2008.
