The first ever MeeGo OS-based netbook has been launched by Fujitsu, coming during what has been a pretty unsettled week for the MeeGo operating system, due to Nokia putting its eggs in with the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 basket.
The Fujitsu LifeBook MH330 MeeGo tablet itself comes pre-installed with the Nokia OS and delivers some pretty average specs, including a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor with 1GB RAM, 250GB hard drive and 10.1-inch LED-backlit screen.
In view of the news of a venture between Nokia and Microsoft, it's apt, if not telling, that the launch of the MeeGo netbook (MeeGo being an Operating system jointly developed by Nokia and Intel) has come during Mobile World Congress, and a launch that for the most part will perhaps go unnoticed.
And now that Symbian is pretty much dead in the water, despite Fujitsu's launch and Nokia stating that, "under the new strategy, MeeGo becomes an open-source, mobile operating system project... placing increased emphasis on longer-term market exploration," its future still doesn't look all that assured.
