Sky 3D receives a culture shock

Fed up of all the repeats on Sky 3D? Yep, us too - check out our "7 days living with" feature. Craving some new 3D programming?

If so, good news as Sky has announced that a new five-part series, hosted by Selina Scott - Treasure Houses of Britain - will hit the channel on 17 February at 9pm.

The show is a joint Sky/History Channel effort and a 2D version will be shown on the latter's platform after its 3D airing.

In the show, Selina Scott will explore the interiors and exteriors of five of the nation’s great houses including Chatsworth and Blenheim Palace. Lovely stuff.

"It was wonderful to be invited to step inside and explore some of our most treasured stately homes," said Scott.

"To film them in 3D has been truly groundbreaking TV. Viewers are in for a unique and spectacular experience with this amazing, compelling series."

See, it's not all sport, flying dinosaurs and 10 foot blue humanoids - there is room for some more cultural programming.

Sky 3D broadcasts on channel 217.
