Bulldog broadband looking for buyer

Cable and Wireless wants to sell off this side of its business

3 July 2006 12:46 GMT / By Amber Maitland

Pocket-lint reported in early June that Bulldog was stopping its consumer broadband business.

Now it emerges that Cable and Wireless is putting the company up for sale.

In a statement sent to The Register, Bulldog said, "There are a number of compelling reasons for this move; chiefly that it allows us to simplify our relationship with our wholesale customers — by making clear that we will not compete with them — and to simplify our operations".

Bulldog continues that the process will take a couple of months.

It's not known who will snap up the business, although O2 and Vodafone have been bandied about as likely contenders.
