LG has gone all 3D at Mobile World Congress and aside from launching the LG Optimus 3D, it launched the UK version of the T-Mobile G-Slate - the LG Optimus Pad.

The new model, announced on Monday at the company’s press conference in Barcelona, will be identical to the G-Slate, but go by the name Optimus Pad.

The Honeycomb powered tablet will sport an 8.9-inch screen, 1Ghz Nvidia tegra 2 processor, and two 5-megapixel cameras on the back that will allow you to record 720p 3D video and pictures or 1080p 2D footage.

However, those hoping to watch the video straight away are likely to be very disappointed.

Rather than pack a screen that allows you to watch 3D without glasses, the LG Optimus Pad will only output in anaglyphic 3D - eek. That’s right, while the company’s 4.3-inch Optimus 3D smartphone gives you the 3D experience without glasses, the tablet will require you to don a pair of blue and red glasses, like people have been doing for over 100 years to get the 3D experience.

Other tech includes a 2-megapixel front facing camera, HDMI output so you can connect it to a TV, 32GB of on board memory, a 3.5mm jack, and stereo speakers.

You’ll also get Adobe Flash 10.1 support for web video and 10 hours of video playback off a single charge, says LG.

LG has yet to date when the new tablet will be hitting the UK.
