If you though miniSD cards were small, meet Toshiba's microSD

Toshiba is also bringing out high-capacity SDHC cards

Toshiba is bringing out two new SD memory card series for the global market.

The first is the microSD card, which is a quarter of the size of the miniSD. They will be released in 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB capacities, and can be slipped into an adaptor for use in devices that rely on regular-sized SD cards.

SDHC Memory card is a high-performance SD card, which meets the new SD Memory Card Ver2.00 for cards with capacity of 2GB. Soon it will boost memory capacity to 32GB.

It supports a maximum write speed of 6MB, so it's optimised for high-capacity and for digital video and continuous shooting modes. The first SDHC to be released by Toshiba will be a 4GB model.

MicroSD cards from Toshiba will be available this summer, with the SDHC cards to follow in September.
