Archers fans are increasingly switching to the internet to get their soap fix, according to the BBC's recent figures.

The Archers was listened to a record 750,000 times online last month.

Fans of the show can download episodes that they miss from bbc.co.uk, and it was these users who set the record.

1.7 million unique users visited The Archers' page on the BBC in May. The same number also visited BBC Radio 2's website, helped by the presence of video clips of Eurovision entries, which registered more than 700,000 requests.
