Rock is aiming for the gaming market with the launch of two new high-spec, reasonably-price notebooks.

The 15.4-inch widescreen Pegasus 660 features Intel's Centrino Core Duo Mobile Technology, while the 17-inch Quaddra YX2 is for AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core processor fans.

The Pegasus 660 also sports an nVidia GeForce GO 7600 graphics card with 256MB of onboard memory, and features a silent mode which drops the processors down to 1GHz for quite, fanless running.

It weights 3.1Kg, has an in-built 8x Dual Layer DVD writer, and is finished in a premium piano black casing.

The Quaddra TX2 also holds an nVidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics card, as well as WSXGA+ resolution on an X-Glass screen. Bluetooth and wireless capabilities come standard.

Both notebooks hold up to 2GB DDR2 RAM, can be upgraded to a 120GB Serial ATA Hard Drive, and feature Firewire and USB connectivity and 4-in-1 card readers.

The Pegasus model starts from £1056.33 including VAT, while the Quaddra TX2 starts at £1173.83.
