Nintendo DS Lite becomes a little more girly

Now available in pink, but only for Japan

It used to be black or white, but now the Nintendo DS Lite has changed its spots.

In Japan, Nintendo is going to let loose a number of DS Lites in Noble Pink on 20 July. The console costs ¥16,800 in Japan, which equates to about £79.

The black and white handheld consoles have been available in the UK since Friday, where they sold just under 40,000 in the first weekend.

Presumably the announcement is priming the European and American markets for a similar launch later in the year — maybe just in time for Christmas, to light up the eyes of a little army of gamer girls?
