There's been a fair amount of talk regarding the iPad 2 in the roundup today as the industry mulls over Apple's comments regarding the much anticipated tablet sequel, and the apparent lack of competitor tablet innovation.

Specifically, this hard talk comes from Apple's COO Tim Cook who has taken it upon himself in Jobs' absence to put the boot in to rival devices, stating that "there isn’t much out there". This is despite a large portion of CES releases being tablet-based, some of which admittedly weren't up to much, but a few certainly looked the part.

The most notable thing perhaps is the fact that on Cook's first day in his new job he's coming in all guns blazing, a signal perhaps that there''s a little more underlying tension surrounding the competition than Apple is letting on.
