Ulead has earned itself official certification from Sony for its Blu-ray disc burning software bundled with Vaio notebooks.

Ulead and InterVideo are the first software vendors who have announced certification of their Blu-ray Disc applications.

"Ulead is proud to be the first recording application to sport the BD badge", said Eldon C M Liu, president of Ulead.

"Hi-capacity optical disc formats like Blu-ray Disc are key, enabling technologies for the digital home and the next generation digital media experience."

Ulead BD DiscRecorder is bundled with Sony's BD notebooks and desktop PCs. The software lets users burn high-definition video from HDV recorders on to Blu-ray Discs.
