Disney Mobile, which operates as a mobile virtual operator network in Japan, has announced the arrival of an Android handset.

Disney Mobile, which operates on the SoftBank network, usually favours clamshell style budget-handsets and this is its first move into the smartphone market.

The Android 2.2. Disney device looks to be based on the Sharp 003SH device, and has a 3.8-inch parallax, glasses free 3D display with a 9.6-megapixel camera that can shoot 720p.

There are six Disney cases to choose from for the device and users will also get a @disney email address, as well as a wealth of Disney apps, widgets, homescreens and icons.

It's out in February, although there are sadly no plans to release a Disney Froyo device over here in Blighty.
