It's still got a long, long way to go before its on par with the app store (it's a generic term don't you know) offerings from Apple and Google, but Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Marketplace is growing at a fairly rapid rate.
Just two weeks back Microsoft announced that it had hit the 5,000 app landmark and now it has raced passed 6,000 and is growing at a rate of 116 apps per day.
Of the 6,000 apps WP7AppList reports that 71 per cent are paid-for apps, with an average price of $2.34.
There are almost 3,000 approved developers and games is the most popular category with 23 per cent, ahead of tools with 14 per cent and entertainment with 11 per cent.
Are you on board with the Windows Phone 7 revolution, or are you sticking with iOS or Android? Let us know using the comments below.
