Penthouse has confirmed that it is planning a 3D porn channel which, if it goes live on schedule (during Q2 2011), will be the first of its kind in the world.
The action for the channel will be shot in native high-definition as well as 3D and the channel will sit alongside the Penthouse HD channel, which launched in 2009 and now operates via 30 different platforms in 15 countries across the world.
“We started shooting in 3D this past summer, and have significantly invested to perfect 3D production quality”, said Marc Bell, CEO of FriendFinder Networks who own the Penthouse brand.
“Consumer excitement for 3D content is high, and Penthouse is the one studio that can rely on its broad expertise to deliver 3D in a manner unmatched by any other branded entertainment company”.
It was only really a matter of time wasn't it?
3D porn? Yay or nay? We're not so sure that we'd want certain things coming out of the screen at us.
