If you were concerned that the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console was going to suffer the same product shortages as the previous iterations of the device then fear not, as it looks as though Nintendo is making sure there will be no break in its supply.
Nintendo plans to ship around 1.5 million units in Japan in the first month after its launch on 26 February; and this kind of rollout, we assume, will be mirrored in the US and Europe when the Nintendo 3DS launches in March.
President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, said in an interview with Nikkei Business Daily that: "It's important that we ensure a continuous supply", before saying that Nintendo aims to sell 4 million 3DS devices worldwide by the end of March.
This is a vital launch for Nintendo as Apple and Android have moved into the handheld gaming space through their mobile phone platforms, and any kind of delay would not look good for the company.
