Apple iPad 2 to launch 1 February?

Digg founder claims "good authority"

Apple iPad 2 to launch 1 February?

10 January 2011 9:32 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

After the barrage of tablet launches at CES last week (23 and counting) all eyes are now firmly set on Cupertino, with massive anticipation upon Apple to hit back with an iPad sequel to tackle the Android assault.

And it looks as if we won't have much longer to wait with internet entrepreneur, and Digg founder, Kevin Rose stating that he has it on, "good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next 3-4 weeks".

He mentions a possible date of 1 February, and this would tie in nicely with reports that circulated at the start of December that said Foxconn was readying the iPad 2 initial shipment of 400,000 - 600,000 units "within the next 100 days".

Rose also said that the iPad 2 would be rocking a retina display (or, at least, a higher dpi one) and front and back cameras. We'd be disappointed with anything less to be honest after the wealth of rumours doing the rounds that have stated this.

Who will win out in the tablet battle of 2011? Can Apple hold on to its crown, or is the little green man going to rise up? And what about the PlayBook? Give us your thoughts on all things tablet below.
