Well, it's been at least an hour since we brought you news of a tablet launch over in Las Vegas, so we suppose it's time you had your latest fix.

This effort comes from Florida based OpenPeak, who is showing off the OpenTablet 10, an Android (version not stated but it says it can handle Flash so possibly Froyo) 10.1-incher that boasts a transflective LCD for readability in all lighting conditions.

This means that the screen automatically adapts to its surroundings, becoming an "ultra-high contrast" eBook reader in bright sunlight, and a bright full-colour backlit display in normal light.

It also doubles up when it comes to input methods with the capacitive screen (Corning Gorilla glass) supporting multi-touch as well as "a unique active precision stylus".

It's a Moorestown Intel Atom processor powered machine with a front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear-facing one that can also shoot 720p video.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and optional 3G. There's HDMI with 1080p output, microSD, micro-USB 2.0 and you'll also have access to OpenServices; OpenPeak's cloud services platform for device management, firmware updates and lock features.

Described as "ultra-portable", it measures in at 13.4mm thick and weighs around 460g.

No word on pricing or a release date as of yet, but we'll do our darnedest to find out, so be sure to check back on Pocket-lint for updates.
