Camera releases appear to be particularly prevalent at CES 2011, and keeping the trend alive is GE Digital Cameras with some new, and pretty varied digital devices. Included in the lineup is the company's first handheld 1080p HD digital video camera.

This HD effort comes in the form of the GE DV1; highly durable the DV1 is not only waterproof to 16 feet, but shockproof and dustproof. You'll get a built-in USB arm on the device and features include Optical Image Stabilization, Face Detection technology as well as a host of other video and photo modes.

There are also a number of compact point and shoot options including the E1680W, E1450W super-slim models with 8 and 5x optical zooms and 16 and 14-megapixel resolutions. and if you're after a "bridge camera" on the cheap you might want to check out the  X500 - featuring an electronic view finder, 16-megapixels, Optical Image Stabilization, and reasonable 15X optical zoom and 27mm wide angle lens.

Prices are $129.99 for the GE DV1 camcorder, and $149.99 and $159.99 for the E1680W and E1450W respectively, whilst the GE X500 will set you back $149.99. All cameras should be available by March 2011.
