Back in October 2010 Microsoft stated that a Kindle App for Windows Phone 7 was in development and now, just over two months later, it has arrived.

The Windows Phone 7 Kindle app is the first major eBook reading app for Microsoft's latest mobile platform and it includes new features built into a Kindle app for the first time, such as personalised recommendations integrated within the Kindle app's home screen and the ability to send book recommendations to your chums without even stepping outside the app.

Dorothy Nicholls, director at Amazon Kindle said: "We think customers are going to love our new Kindle app on the unique interface of Windows Phone 7 and the convenience of our Whispersync technology, which saves and synchronizes your bookmarks, notes and highlights between all of your devices."

The Kindle app for Windows Phone 7 is available to download for free in the Marketplace now.
