Did you like the idea of some wireless music courtesy of the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air, bust gasp with horror when you read about the £500 price-tag?

If so, help could be on hand from Pennsylvania-based audio guru Altec Lansing, who has announced its latest wireless speaker - the Altec Lansing inMotion Air - over at CES.

The inMotion Air is a Bluetooth powered speaker that comes with an adaptor for your computer which is capable of beaming music 100 yards - pretty impressive we're sure you'll agree.

And if you're worried about getting a tinny sound because its a Bluetooth signal, then fear not as Altec Lansing has whacked in apt-X sound codec technology for a richer sound experience.

The Bluetooth class 1 tech used on the inMotion Air also helps to reduce interference from your other wireless devices and you can double the output or play tunes in multiple rooms simultaneously as well using the same transmitter.

"Users want access to their music at all times, whether it's from their computer libraries, mobile phones or portable players," said Steve Schlangen, Altec Lansing product manager.

"The inMotion Air delivers freedom from the confines of wires so that the benefits of rich, crystal clear sound can be shared anywhere.

"Our heritage as an audio innovator enabled us to engineer a new wireless audio experience with an immersive soundstage, so whether consumers are connecting across the house from their computer or across the room from their iPhone, their music is always within reach."

The Altec Lansing inMotion Air will hit US shops (UK TBC) in February and will cost 5 cents less than $200.

Update: It's out in the UK now, priced at £179.99.
