It looks as if Research in Motion is all systems go for the forthcoming BlackBerry PlayBook as it has announced that the doors are now open at the App World for developers to submit their ideas.

Plus, if your app gets approved and makes the cut before the PlayBook goes live, you could also nab one of the hotly anticipated devices for free,

"Interest and momentum behind the BlackBerry PlayBook continues to build and we are thrilled with the positive response from both the developer community and our customers," said Tyler Lessard, VP Global Alliances and Developer Relations at Research In Motion .

"With its groundbreaking performance and robust support for industry standard development tools, the BlackBerry PlayBook provides an exceptional platform that appeals to a wide range of mobile appdevelopers, including Adobe AIR and Flash developers, HTML web developers, corporate developers and application hobbyists."

RIM has also published a wealth of helpful info to get you started, including guidelines and a webcast series. You can find these at BlackBerry.com and webcast.streamlogics.com.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is expected to land early next year, although there's no official launch details as of yet.
