Toshiba has announced its latest netbook range, the Mini NB500, with the most exciting model being the Mini NB520 which brings a dual core chip and advanced audio options to the table.

The Toshiba Mini NB520 has the Intel Atom N550 processor on board, backed up by 1GB of DDR3 RAM, has a 250GB HDD and it runs Windows 7 Starter.

It's a 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600, display netbook with Toshiba's TruBrite LED backlit tech packed in, and Dolby Advanced Audio with integrated Harmon/Kardon stereo speakers.

It has a multi-touch touchpad, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 (with a 3.0 update on its way) and a VGA webcam too.

It measures in at 17mm thin at its slimmest point, and weighs 1.32kg. It will be available in brown, blue or green.

Toshiba also announced the Mini NB500 model, which hasn't got the tech of its bigger brother, with no Harmon/Kardon speakers and an Intel Atom N455 chip, but it will be easier on your wallet.

The Mini NB500 series will hit the shops at the end of January, with prices still to be confirmed.
