Tiscali has announced an upgrade to its broadband service and is now offering speeds of up to 8MB.The faster speed will allow users to upload and download more quickly; for example, a 90 minute film at near-DVD quality will download in around 90 minutes.
Tiscali Max is priced at £17.99, which is the same price as its previous 2MB service. The 2MB service has dropped in price to £14.99, while the 1MB service is just £12.99 as part of a special offer until 30 June.
The service optimises the line performance, although top speed depends on various factors, including the quality of your BT line.
Few users will actually receive the top speed; about 78% will get speeds of 4MB, while over 40% will achieve 6MB speeds.
