Nine new apps for connected TV range (which we already knew about)

LG NetCast TVs officially 'Appy

23 November 2010 16:30 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

Loyal Pocket-lint readers will already be well aware of this, as we told you all about the LG TV internet app additions earlier this month, but now it's all official.

In total, there are nine new web powered apps including the BBC iPlayer, Acetrax, Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter and Vtuner.

The apps are available to anyone with a NetCast featured LG TV. And an automatic update will occur when you open up the NetCast area on your TV setup.

Stephen Gater, head of marketing home entertainment at LG UK said: "People want to be entertained and the role of the traditional TV is changing. We’re committed to offering our customers a fully connected home and these new applications will further enhance our current offering".

"Having catch-up TV, movies, and social networking on demand will mean that people’s TVs are truly the hub of the living room. Services like Facebook, BBC iPlayer and Acetrax mean that people can now enjoy what they want, whenever they like".

Indeed they can, and they've probably been able to for a couple of weeks already.
