Kodak is adding to the prosumer superzoom category with the Easyshare P712, the replacement for the P850.While the P850 had a similar 12x optical zoom, it only featured a 5MP sensor, whereas the P712 has stepped the resolution up to 7.1MP.
Kodak claims the auto-focus system is the best in its class, with a 1/10th of a second click-to-capture speed.
The lens boasts impressive speculations with a range from 36mm to 432mm, and a maximum aperture of f2.8 at the wide end, reducing to a very respectable f3.7 at the telephoto end.
Optical image stabilisation is built-in to the camera, and promises a two-stop advantage over non-stabilised systems.
The 2.5-inch LCD on the rear isn't the largest in its class, but Kodak has managed to incorporate an electronic viewfinder to make composing easier in bright light conditions.
The camera includes all the usual features of an Easyshare camera, including a Share button for instant access to emailing, printing, or uploading to the web, as well as 30fps VGA MPEG4 video capability.
And the best news? All this can be yours for just £349.99. Cameras, Kodak, Digital cameras, Gadgets
