iRiver has rolled out the Wi-Fi version of its touchscreen Cover Story ebook reader. The model (EB05W) adds to the Cover Story lineup, which also includes the EB05 offline version.

The iRiver Cover Story range marks a move away from the Kindle-esque keyboard form factor into a touchscreen device, but still with the E Ink technology on board. It has a 6-inch, 600 x 800 resolution electronic paper display.

If you think you'll miss the keyboard because you like to take notes then fear not, because you can make handwritten notes directly onto the screen.

As well as email connectivity on board, the Cover Story boasts an integrated MP3 player and you can chuck in a SD card to add to the 2GB of internal memory.

It has a wide range of supported file formats including EPUB, PDF, TXT, FB2 and DJVU, and ebooks can be downloaded from the Waterstones ebook store.

The Wi-Fi enabled iRiver Cover Story costs £149 and is available to pre-order at Waterstones online now.
