Nokia unveils three new phones, including a no-frills budget model

Other two models are mid-range options for the style-conscious

Nokia has unveiled three new budget to mid-range handsets, each featuring specific USPs for the target market, at its Nokia Connection event in Singapore.

The first is the Nokia 6151, which features 3G benefits in Nokia's most affordable package to date, and should retail at about €240 (£160 ex VAT).

Kai Öistämö, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Phones, said, "Its sleek design and affordable pricing makes the Nokia 6151 a very attractive 3G handset".

Designed as an introductory model for 3G services, the 6151 facilitates streaming multimedia audio and video content, as well as downloading of music and video.

It features a 1.3MP camera and Bluetooth connectivity, and stores music on 30MB of internal memory as well as an optional micro SD memory card. An FM tuner is also incorporated.

Talk time is advertised as 4.5 hours, with standby capability of up to 10 days. The model will come in black, pearl white, orange, light blue, and lime green.

Next up is the Nokia 6080, which is primarily aimed the Asian market, and is being marketed as Nokia's latest camera phone.

With a black, silver, or gold casing, the 6080 has a large colour display for viewing images, and incorporates a stereo FM radio and MP3 ring tones.

Internet communication functions and an easy-to-use interface make sending MMS, Nokia Xpress audio messages, and email simple for first-time users.

It offers talk time of up to 3.5 hours, 12 hours standby time, and is expected to retail for €180 (£130 ex VAT).

Last is the budget option for people who really just want a telephone. The Nokia 1110i will cost just €40 (£27 ex VAT) and features an old-school black and white display.

It's designed for the cost-conscious, as it features support for the Nokia Prepaid Tracker to help monitor mobile usage. It will let you talk for about 5hours, and be ready in standby for 15 days.

The three phones bring the total of new launches to 23 for Nokia this year, and it's expected to launch up to 40 in total by the end of the year.
