Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy Tab launch, which is now just days away on 1 November.
The electronics giant has announced some key partnerships for the device, which will literally allow you to work, rest and play.
Let's start with the work - SamTab will be offering its users access to a fully optimised version of The Financial Times, via an embedded app.
Rob Grimshaw, managing director, FT.com said: “We are delighted to be launching the FT’s first Android and HTML5 based app with the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Our readers have already shown great appetite for consuming our news and analysis on tablet devices and Galaxy Tab is another very exciting channel for FT content”.
Rest comes via the WH Smith partnership. Like the deal with the Samsung E60 ebook reader, WH Smith is on board to supply ebooks to the tablet.
“WHSmith are delighted to announce this partnership with Samsung, we’re confident that the combination of our bookselling expertise with their electronics innovation has resulted in an eBooks App which really adds value and meets all the reading needs of Galaxy Tab owners”, said Toby Keir head of Digital, WHSmith.
Finally, and most importantly, you can play via a deal with Gameloft to bring some of its best mobile titles to the platform.
Two big games are all set for the launch as well; N.O.V.A. Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance HD and racing game Asphalt 5 HD. Both fully optimised for the SamTab's 7-inch screen and to take advantage of the built-in accelerometer and gyroscope tech.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab launches on 1 November. Stay tuned to Pocket-lint for our full review soon.
Also, don't forget that you can win a Samsung Galaxy Tab with Pocket-lint and our good buddies at Gameloft. Check out how on the competition page.
