Disney mobile allows parents to keep tabs on their kids

Embedded tracking device and an online call managing system mean that children are monitored at all times

Disney has launched its mobile phone service for families in the US that allows parents to monitor their children's mobile phone usage.

It ensures that kids reply to parents' urgent messages by locking the phone until they've done so, while a built-in satellite tracking device means that parents can find out where their children are at any given time — as long as they have their mobiles with them.

Call Control also lets parents restrict their mobile phone usage by days of the week and time through disneymobile.com. To ensure kids can always call home or a parent's mobile, some contacts can be designated Always On, while other numbers can be prohibited altogether.

The service also lets parents monitor their child's mobile phone usage and keep tabs on texts, calls, and internet downloads.

According to one report, Disney plans to roll out the service in the UK with O2.
