Laptop speakers are, as a rule, crap.
Netbook speakers are even worse.
And that is why Logitech has come up with the Speaker Lapdesk N550, which is a more compact version of the N700, designed especially with little machines in mind.
Basically it is a tray for your netbook to sit on that also features "precisely placed integrated stereo speakers that sit on either side of your laptop and deliver rich, full stereo sound".
The Lapdesk N550 has a heat shielding design and is shaped for optimised netbook display viewing.
It is powered via a USB lead that goes straight into your netbook and has foldable bumpers on the Lapdesk's surface to stop your machine from sliding about.
"The Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N550 solves the two complaints people most often report about their laptops and netbooks - poor audio quality and laptop heat. Using this one product can dramatically improve the experience people have with their laptops", said Logitech's Denis Pavillard.
It's out in January and will cost about £50.
