An official trailer has just been released for NASCAR The Game 2011, as well as a few choice screenshots.
From what we can see the new racer looks pretty swish, so we can only hope that the gameplay is as good. The reason we're hoping that the new iteration is a success is that Pocket-lint has fond memories of playing Indianapolis 500 on the Amiga; with the racing coming second to competitions on who could cause the biggest pile ups.
If the new NASCAR can even come close to that kind of fun, then it's sure to be a hit.
Details of the game are scarce, but what we do know is that you'll get to play as either yourself or a real-life NASCAR driver, racing on 22 different tracks with up to 16 other drivers in online multiplayer. Also "Damage is meticulously detailed and multi-car wrecks are the most extreme ever experienced in an officially licensed racing game".
NASCAR experience points will be at the heart of the game in both online and offline races, enabling players to unlock rewards such as decal packs or special car designs, as well as career sponsorships and special races throughout career mode.
NASCAR The Game 2010, will be developed by Eutechnyx, under the Activision label and is due out February 2011. It will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
