Segway boss, Jimi Heselden, has died after riding one of his own motorised two-wheelers over a cliff and into the River Wharfe while inspecting the grounds of his estate in North Yorkshire on Sunday 26 September.
A passer-by found the multimillionaire in the Boston Spa area dead alongside a rugged, country version of the Segway, believed to be the X2.
Although the full cause of death is yet to be revealed, the Police are seemingly ruling out foul play: "Police were called at 11.40am yesterday to reports of a man in the River Wharfe, apparently having fallen from the cliffs above", said a Police spokeperson. "A Segway-style vehicle was recovered. He was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time we do not believe the death to be suspicious".
A former miner, Heselden was recently ranked 395 on the Sunday Times Rich List. He was worth £166 million, thanks to defence contracts, and the growing worldwide success of the Segway vehicle.
