Sources coming in thick and fast are suggesting that BlackBerry maker RIM is about to launch its tablet device as soon as next week to kick off its BlackBerry Developer Conference in San Francisco.
The Wall Street Journal is citing its usual "people familiar with RIM's plans" mantra to spill some of the beans it expects will be confirmed by the Canadian company as early as Sunday.
According to the paper, the device that has so far been dubbed the BlackPad, will as previous rumours have suggested be rushed out for a Holidays launch sometime in Q4.
The BlackPad, claims the WSJ, will have Blueooth, Wi-Fi, but no 3G, instead requiring you to connect on the go via a mobile phone.
However rather than opt for the newly launched BlackBerry 6 OS it will instead use the QNX Software Systems operating system - recently bought by RIM.
Could RIM be about to launch a tablet? Pocket-lint will be live at the BlackBerry Developers Conference all next week so if they do, we will be on hand to find out more.
We will keep you posted.
