HTC has already announced that the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z will be getting a new version of the company's Sense UI skin on top of the Android 2.2 operating system running on the phones, but they didn't really show much aside from a few headline features.

Now a week later an XDA member called DarkStone has ported the new HTC Sense over to an HD2 so he could see, and therefore show us, what new features to expect and what they will look like.

The big changes are the inclusion of the HTC Sense login functionality at start up linking up to the HTCSense.com service which will be online to support the phones, offering a range of features like message backup, phone location and remote wiping.

HTC’s new Hub application has been captured too allowing you to download more “skins” for the device and other media.

Those skins, which will range from wood to metal effects clearly show HTC is happy to let you make the Sense UI look and feel the way you want it to look and feel.

Pocket-lint captured its own video showing many of these features including the Reader app in action at the London launch.
