If you've been waiting months and months in the hope that Microsoft would eventually get around to launching the Zune HD outside of the UK, then we've got some bad news.
In a one-to-one briefing with executives at Microsoft about the launch of the new Zune services in the UK, Alex Reeve, who heads up the Windows Mobile business in the UK has confirmed to Pocket-lint that the Zune HD won't be coming to the UK.
"All the growth in this market is in the phone arena," confirmed Reeve when we asked if now that Zune services will be available in the UK whether or not we would be getting the Zune HD player.
Microsoft's Zune HD MP3 player launched in the US to glowing reviews however has so far failed to make any real impact.
Microsoft has instead shifted it's focus to Windows Phone 7 instead treating the Zune HD as a precursor to the phone operating system and with it the ability to play music and videos on the go.
Microsoft has told Pocket-lint that the new phone, due out in October will use the Zune software interface (after an update) to be the main interface hub for the phone, allowing users to manage music, video, apps and more.
We will keep you posted.
