Facebook might be the king of the pile when it comes to total photo uploads (estimates are around 25 - 30 billion), but Flickr has, according to official numbers, just passed the 5 billion photo mark.

Although Flickr has lost out to social networking sites like Facebook in the last couple of years, the site that was started in 2005 has racked up an impressive number of the worlds photos from pictures of babies to buildings and everything inbetween.

"Flickr members upload more than 3,000 images every minute, and yesterday yeoaaron uploaded the five billionth photo," the company confirmed on its blog.

And the magic photo? A picture of Woodwards Collage in Vancouver.

While Yeoaaron gets a pat on the back, there's no word as to whether or not he will be getting a prize of anything.
