AOL jumps on the security software bandwagon with Total Care

Report suggests AOL is developing its own security software solution

After Microsoft announced its OneCare security software last week, Symantec and McAfee both issued statements about their upcoming security products.

According to a report by Cnet.com, AOL is not about to be outdone and will issue a solution it calls Total Care.

Like Microsoft's OneCare, Total Care will offer both security and PC care features to maintain system performance.

The source also let it drop that Total Care is being jointly developed with an unnamed third-party manufacturer, and not solely by AOL developers.

The company is also testing out a security tool called the Active Security Monitor that continuous scans the security status of a computer to suggest security improvements.
