Firebox.com, the website that specialises in weird and whacky gifts, threw open its doors this week to show off some of the gifts it has lined up for Christmas. Whilst the tech world was being wowed by the likes Nokia and HTC, we found time to head over and see what they had on offer. Here's what caught our attention.

Lomo Panoramic 360 Camera - £99.99

Everyone likes a little basic photography and Lomo has a cult following amongst those in the know. The camera puts a twist – literally – on things by offering full 360 degree capture. All you have to do is pull the cord and release and the camera spins and captures your glorious shot. It doesn't take static shots, mind you, so for a penny shy of £100, you've get to really want Lomo-style 360 degree photos. It takes real 35mm film, so you'll have to make sure whoever develops the film doesn't cut it back into neat 6x4 prints.

Imagin EB5 colour ebook reader - £99.99

Whoa! Hold your horses. This isn't some sneaky Mirasol display device that has just popped out unannounced. In fact, it’s a standard colour LCD display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution display (the same as many smartphones) which has the ability to view EPUB books, including those of the DRM variety. Other functions are included too, such as music and video player, and the controls in the frame are touch. The downside is that you only get 5 hours of battery life, so you might be tempted to get an iPod touch or a Sony Reader instead.

Star Wars Mimobots - £24.99

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't like Star Wars. You'll also be hard pressed to find any spin-off merchandise that has been exploited. Now is the turn of the humble USB memory stick. These come in a choice of characters, from R2-D2 to the humble Stormtrooper, offering up 2GB of storage – just about enough to store the blueprints for the Death Star. But at £24.99, as opposed to a couple of pounds for a regular USB memory stick, these might not be the drives you're looking for.

App Magnets - £9.99

Now your fridge can join the iPhone fun with a selection of app magnets. You'll get a range of core Apple apps here, each one subtly altered from the original to avoid the inevitable law suit. Our favourite is the Mail icon, as fortunately there are no messages to read, which means you can relax and watch some YouTube videos instead. Each magnet is 20mm square and you get 18 in the packet, which looks like an iPhone.

Kandela Magical Wand & Enchanted Candle - £34.99

We've saved the best for last. This one has been on Dragon's Den (if you've not seen it, watch it here, all 14 minutes of it), so has the backing of Dragon Duncan Bannatyne. Don’t that that put you off though, as this is pretty cool. The wand comes with the candle that you can turn on and off and the neat thing is that once the LED candle is lit, you can blow it out. So if you are a fan of the occult, or just want to add a little Harry Potter into your life, then the Kandela wand is probably as close as you'll get. Remember, it's Wingardium Leviosa, not Wingardium Leviosaaa.
