Activision has announced that it has managed to sign up some Hollywood big shots for its upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops title.

Brit Gary Oldman, who is best known for his roles in Bram Stoker's Dracula and, more recently, The Dark Knight, will be reprising his role as Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty: World at War, and Activision also has Ed Harris, best known as the "God" of The Truman Show, signed up to voice CIA operative Jason Hudson.

As well as the actors, the Santa Monica based publisher also has David S. Goyer on board to provide script consultation. Goyer was a writer on The Dark Knight as well as Batman Begins and The Unborn.

“Oldman, Harris and Goyer are considered some of Hollywood’s finest talents and they perfectly complement Call of Duty: Black Ops’ ambitious and immersive single player experience”, said Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch.

"Their contributions have helped us to push the boundaries of our story telling and character development far beyond anything we have ever attempted before in the franchise".

Call of Duty: Black Ops is due out on 9 November and will be available on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and  Wii, as well as a special Nintendo DS version.

Pocket-lint was lucky enough to see a lengthy gameplay video over at Gamescom last month and all we can say is: Believe the hype. It's going to be massive.
