HTC PD42100: Slider QWERTY and Android 3.0?

6 September 2010 9:31 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

It's a phone that has been touted around in the rumour mill for a while now, thanks to some blurred leaked shots, but the excitement has stepped up a notch as the monster HTC slider QWERTY has turned up at an FCC filing.

The codenamed HTC PD42100 is all dressed up for Verizon, with reports suggesting that this is a CDMA2000 device with EV-DO Rev A connectivity, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-FI (at 2.4GHz).

There's also talk that the phone will be packing a speedy 1.2GHz processor and may even be Verizon's flagship 4G device.

It has a 4-inch screen to go with its full slider QWERTY and, as it is understood that the phone isn't being released until 2011, there is, of course, talk that this will be a Gingerbread boasting, Android 3.0 device.

Whisper it quietly, but there are also suggestions that we could be looking at the next Google branded flagship device - Nexus Two anyone?
