Packard Bell, often thought of as the cheap alternative to the Acer family, has used IFA to announce a pretty impressive sounding notebook - the EasyNote LX86.

The LX86 (the LX stands for luxury, apparently) has a silver finish and has a full-size keyboard with the keys having metal-like keycaps.

On to the tech, and this is a 17.3-inch notebook, with a quad-core Intel i7 processor with Turbo Boost as well. It can have up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM and can be equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon graphics chip of your choice, up to the HD 5850 with 2GB of dedicated memory.

You can also have dual hard-drives with a total storage capacity of 1.5TB. It has HDMI out for hooking up to your big screen TV and there's also Bluetooth 3.0 and 1.3-megapixel webcam for all your video calling needs.

Packard Bell is also proudly boasting about the LX86's social features:

"All you have to do is to press the Packard Bell Social Networks key on your keyboard and you will enter your favourite social networks directly: Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. There is no need to launch an Internet browser, you can post comments, play games, update your profile, view or share photos and videos, and manage your entire online social life directly from your desktop".

The Packard Bell EasyNote LX86 will be out soon with a starting price of around 849 euros.
