Orange HTC Desire: Froyo not coming until mid-September

Android update taking longer than expected

Orange HTC Desire: Froyo not coming until mid-September

27 August 2010 17:15 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

Bad news for HTC Desire owners looking to get entry to the Froyo fan-club - looks like you're going to have to wait longer than expected.

The news was broken by Conor Maples, Orange's PR manager, who tweeted that the update has been delayed and that it is now expected in mid-September.

Maples pointed out in subsequent tweets that the delay was not down to Orange services on the handset, and that it had nothing to do with Orange's customisation of the device.

Still, the news will be a bit of a kick in the teeth for Orange users keen to take advantage of the wealth of goodies that Android 2.2 brings with it.

If you are in this ship, then we recommend that you follow Conor over on Twitter for all the latest updates, or if you're too lazy for that, simply read all about them directly on Pocket-lint.
