Plantronics GameCom 777: For serious gamer sound buffs

Serious PC gamers shouldn't be content with just having an awesome picture setup.

Sure, your Nvidia GeForce 3D GPU combined with a super expensive full 1080p LCD display may give you crystal clear visuals, but unless you team these up with some hi-quality headphones then you're not getting the full gaming experience.

Plantronics will be hoping that gamers who haven't yet sorted the sound part of their PC gaming setup may be tempted by its latest gaming headphone setup - the GameCom 777.

The GameCom 777 is an affordable option (at around £80) for PC gamers in need of some decent cans.

Using Dolby Headphone and Dolby ProLogic 11x technology the two cans can give you a virtual 7.1 surround sound system, with a virtual 8-channel audio output.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Plantronics again”, comments Dominic Preston,  EMEA PC and games marketing manager at Dolby.

“Dolby aims to provide consumers with the richest and highest quality audio experience possible and with this headset we are pleased to offer one of the most immersive gaming experiences available today”.

As well as the Dolby tech, you've also got a hide-away option to make these look like regular headphones for listening to your music, and you can also use the device for VoIP calling on services like Skype and Google Voice.

The Plantronics GameCom 777 gaming headset should hit the shops before August if finished and will set you back £79.99.
