Huawei Ideos U8150 to offer cut-price entry to the Froyo party

If you're looking to get in on all the Froyo fun, but can't afford to fork out for a Nexus One, a HTC Desire or even a Samsung Galaxy Tab, then the Huawei Ideos U8150 may be just the handset for you.

The U8150 is an Android 2.2 device, with a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen and it should see the light of day at IFA 2010.

Huawei is saying that the price point of the U8150 will be "very attractive", suggesting a budget handset that would fall in-line with the company's previous cheaper-end Android efforts - the U8220 and the U8230.

Huawei also recently announced a 7-inch Android (2.1) tablet that sells for less than £300.

Orange told Pocket-lint back in May that it will be using the Chinese manufacturer to develop some of its budget Android handsets - so maybe the U8150 could even see a Orange re-branding before its UK launch.

The device is said to have a 3.2-megapixel camera and should offer the usual array of Froyo goodness including Wi-Fi hotspot creation.

The Huawei Ideos U8150 is expected to be officially announced on 2 September.
