Wow. Either the public has got a huge appetite for mini-camcorders or the manufactures have all had a ganders at some market research with massively inaccurate information.

Because JVC has just announced another couple of pocket-cams to add to the absolute barrage of devices that we've seen launched in the last few weeks.

JVC's dual launch is basically the same camera, except one is waterproof.

The JVC Picsio GC-WP10 is waterproof to IPX8 standards down to 3m, so it will do you for a bit of snorkelling. The non waterproof device is called the JVC Picsio GC-FM2 in case you were wondering.

Both cams are capable of 1080p full HD video shooting which you can watch back via the HDMI out socket. They have 5-megapixel cameras on board, with 4x digital zoom and digital image stabilisation as well.

They both have 3-inch touchscreens, built-in editing software, are compatible with Eye-Fi cards, and charge via USB. There's also sharing features on the cams so you can quickly upload to Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo.

The GC-FM2 is out at the beginning of September with the GC-WP10 following later in the month. There's no news on prices just yet.
