iPhone 4: Telescope add-on flies you to the moon. Phones, Mobile phones, iPhone, iPhone 4, Apple, 0

We've seen some pretty impressive iPhone camera lens mashups here at Pocket-lint, but this is the first time we've seen a bit of custom modding with truly astronomical results.

A chap called Jurilog took a 175mm Pencil Borg f7 telescope and a Vixen LV 5mm eyepiece, mounted them on a small tripod and, combined with the 5-megapixel camera on the latest iPhone, he shot for the stars. Well, not the stars exactly, but you get the gist.

The result is truly stunning. The image has been sharpened by photo editing software, but Jurilog said via his blog that the iPhone 4's back illuminated sensor was a big help with the lack of lighting.

Along with HD music videos and short films, Jurilog's effort just goes to show that the iPhone 4 is a more-than-adequate pocket camera solution.
