Motorola is about to launch the Motorola Backflip in the UK, according to Mobile phone website mobiles.co.uk.

The phone, which was first announced at CES in Las Vegas in January, and has yet to make it to the UK, is finally coming to Blighty, according to the site, months after its US launch.

A Motorola spokesperson at the launch of the Motorola Milestone XT720 earlier in the year, told Pocket-lint that the company was hoping to be bring the phone to the UK,after successful launches in Germany and Italy, if an operator was willing to take it. It seems now, if mobiles.co.uk's details are correct, that the Blackflip UK launch will be very soon.

Where the Backflip phone differs from the average touchscreen device is a second touchscreen panel behind the screen, that means you can navigate around the screen without your fingers getting in the way.

The second screen, which works like a trackpad on a laptop, is revealed only when you backflip the QWERTY keyboard into place.

Tech specs include a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A processor, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, a 3.1-inch display with 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS and OS Android 1.5 with Motoblur.

The news follows Motorola's launch of the Flipout on Orange recently.

The Motorola Backflip isn't the only phone that mobiles.co.uk is leaking ahead of the official announcement, as the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z have also received a mention.
