The ability to shoot straight from your digital camera to your iPad without the need for the expensive and hard to come by Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit just got a whole lot easier thanks to a new app for the iPad.

Called ShutterSnitch, a wireless router like the Mi-Fi and an Eye-Fi card, JPEG photographs can be uploaded to the ShutterSnitch app within approximately 3 seconds of taking the shot.

Once all parties are happy, photos can also be emailed using the iPad’s mail app, exported to Flickr, an FTP server, or edited by exporting to other photography apps.

Upcoming features for ShutterSnitch include support for RAW files and connection to an external screen.

It costs £4.99 from the App Store.

Features include

- Bonjour support for easy FTP connectivity.

- All features are also available on iPhone and iPod Touch.

- Create a collection for each photoshoot.

- Lock private collections.

- E-mail and FTP transfer images directly from the browser.

- Get a visible and/or audible warning if shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, and/or light level doesn't fit your predefined rules.

- Editing functionality is only enabled when you log in as Superuser, so you don't have to worry when sharing your iPad with crew and models.

- Custom username, password, and port for the built-in FTP server.
