If you liked the look of the Sony Walkman NWZ-E450 range, but thought you could do without the karaoke features to save you a few quid, and also thought they could do with slimming down a bit, then the budget NWZ-E350 range may be more up your street.

Sony are presenting this series as its budget range, but promising that you'll still get the sort of quality that you've come to expect from the Walkman brand.

One of the most interesting features is the SenseMe tech which "automatically categorises music tracks in a connected library into a variety of music channels and playlists". So hopefully, it knows its Alice Nielsen from its Alice Cooper or your lug-holes could be in for a bit of a shock.

The E350 series supports MP3, WMA (DRM), AAC (non-DRM) and linear PCM, and it can also handle video in WMV (DRM) format.

You'll get roughly 50 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of video playback, depending on your settings and is available in 4GB (NWZ-E353) or 8GB (NWZ-E354).

The bigger of the two is $80 and it's just $10 less for the smaller one, so it's a bit of a no-brainer which one to go for. No pound sterling prices have been revealed as of yet.
